William G. Marland
Obituary
William "Bill" G. Marland, age 80, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pennsylvania.
He was born in Corning, NY on September 23, 1942. He was the son of the late George and Ruth Marland.
He was a graduate of CFA. After graduation Bill joined the U.S. Army serving from 1966 to 1968. He served in Vietnam earning 3 Bronze service stars.
He retired from AL Blades & Sons Inc., in Painted Post.
Bill was a good old fashion farmer. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, cutting his firewood and raising his chickens.
He is survived by his son, Donald (Erma) Hunt; granddaughter, Ashley Preston (Damon Shepherd); stepdaughter, Bonnie Hunt-Harvey; step grandchildren, April (Patrick) O’Dell and Dale (Madison) Blake; his trusted sidekick cat, Muskie. Special friends Kathy Allington, Mike Button and Judy Carr.
He was predeceased by his loving companion of 43 years Carol J. Grunder and daughter, Nancy Hunt-Harvey.
The family will be receiving friends at Acly-Stover Funeral Home on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Hope Cemetery Annex with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to the Corning Salvation Army.
