Terry "TJ" Demonstoy Obituary

Terry “TJ” Demonstoy, 45, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a family and circle of friends whose hearts will forever feel the weight of his absence. Born on June 30, 1980, in Charlotte, North Carolina, TJ was the beloved son of Penny Rook and Jim Demonstoy.

TJ lived life with a boldness that was uniquely his. A true free spirit, he walked his own path and lived life on his own terms. Over the years, he worked several jobs, but no title or occupation ever defined who he truly was.

More than anything, TJ loved his family. His children were his greatest pride and the center of his world. He leaves behind his cherished children, Tapaynga, Jakob, Gage, Faith, Summer, and Camden. He shared children with Angelica Baker, with whom he remained close friends and a devoted co-parent. Though their relationship changed over time, their friendship endured, and together they continued supporting and loving their children with mutual respect and care.

TJ is also survived by his treasured grandchildren, Colton, Cayson, and Avian; his father, Jim Demonstoy and wife Chris; his mother, Penny Buck and husband Joe; his brothers, Jimmy Demonstoy and wife Amber, and Mikey Demonstoy; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

TJ held many memories close to his heart, especially the times spent with his mother at the races, cheering on his brother Jimmy. Those moments brought him joy, excitement, and a sense of family connection that stayed with him throughout his life.

He also shared a special and enduring bond with Diane Andrews, who loved him as one of her own and remained a steady source of care, support, and guidance throughout his life.

TJ will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, funny, goofy, caring, outgoing, stubborn, and determined. He had a gift for bringing laughter to even the hardest days. Beneath his tough exterior was a tender heart, always ready to help and always ready to love.

Music was one of TJ’s greatest passions, especially Eminem, hip hop, and rap. He expressed himself through poetry, pouring his emotions into his writing. He was also a talented artist who found joy in drawing and creating. TJ appreciated the simple pleasures in life: junk food, music, laughter, and time spent with loved ones.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Acly-Stover Funeral Home.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, TJ’s spirit, humor, and love will continue to live on through his children, his family, and all who were touched by his presence. He was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
