With heavy hearts, we share that Teresa M. Stocum, age 66, of Lindley, NY, left this world too soon on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
Born on July 3, 1959, in Corning, NY, to Maxwell D. Tillotson and Patricia Davis, Teresa lived a life filled with kindness, hard work, and love. She was happiest in the kitchen, where she poured her heart into every meal she made. Over the years, she cooked in many places, but most recently at the Gang Mills Diner, where customers quickly became friends.
Teresa had a way of finding joy in life’s simple treasures—curling up with a good book, crocheting beautiful pieces by hand, canning the harvest from her garden, or tackling word games and puzzles with determination. The outdoors called to her often, and she loved the rhythm of farm life. Above all, she cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
She leaves behind her beloved husband and soulmate, Marc E. Stocum, Sr., of Lindley; her children Marcia (Michael) Gray-Wilkerson of Buffalo, NY, Christopher Stocum of Palm Bay, FL, Marc (Krystal F. Hockenberry) Stocum, Jr. of Tuscarora, NY, and Wyatt Stocum of Herndon, VA; her sisters Linda J. Tillotson of PA, Pamela J. (Mark) Frantz of PA, and Jeannie M. Frailey; her brother Clayton Duttry of PA; and her treasured grandchildren Riley, Hannah, Phoenix, Marc III, Evelyn, Emmylou, Chris Jr., Payton, Lilly, and Jackson. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were touched by her warmth and generosity. Teresa was predeceased by her daughter Sunshine.
Teresa’s love for animals was a constant in her life, and in her memory, donations may be made to your local Humane Society or SPCA. In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held.
Those who knew Teresa will remember her laugh, her giving spirit, and the way she could make anyone feel at home. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
