Susan M. Maciel

Susan M. Maciel, of Painted Post, New York, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. She was 66.

Susan was born on February 26, 1960, in Elmira, New York, the loving daughter of Michael W. Maciel and Gladys B. Gerald.

She was employed as an administrative assistant at Legal Assistance of Western New York in Elmira, where she took great pride in her work, and had 14+ years of service.

Susan will be remembered for her practical, yet laid-back, loving personality, her unwavering faith in God, and her devotion to her family, particularly her daughter Christina, and her granddaughters, Sophia, and Luna, and her grandson Vincent. Her favorite “job” of all was being their Mom and Nana. 

She is survived by her daughter, Christina (Anthony, Sophia, Luna, Vincent) Brusso of Corning, New York. She is also survived by her sister Sandra (Mark) Bryce of Corning NY, sister Judith Guerard (Jerome, J.P, Lorraine) of Massachusetts, her brothers, Michael Maciel (Marion) of Trumansburg NY, brother, David Maciel (Patricia, Jessie) of PA, and brother Steven Maciel (Kristin, Lauren) of Sayre PA.  She was predeceased by her father, Michael Maciel, and mother, Gladys Maciel, and her brother-in-law, Paul Guerard.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Acly-Stover Funeral Home in Corning. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m.  A private burial will be held at Barnard Cemetery in Corning.
