Ronald Lee Bills

Ronald L. Bills, 67, of Hornby passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at home.

He was born June 6, 1953 in Corning, NY the son of Frederick W. Bills and Geraldine M. Mattoon.  He was a graduate of West High School (Class of 1972).

Ron and Rebecca S. Snyder were married July 26, 1975 in Gang Mills, NY.  They spent 45 wonderful years together.

Ron was employed by Corning Inc. where he worked at Sullivan Park as a millwright in the maintenance department retiring in 2015. He had 49 years active and retired service with Corning Inc.

He was a past Assistant Chief for Caton Fire Dept., past member of Gang Mills Fire Dept., a member of the Hornby Volunteer Fire Dept. for 30 years and was the Fire Chief for 18 years.

Ron is survived by his Wife, Becky Bills of Hornby; Children, Amy Bills of Hornby and Ronald L. (Cheryl) Bills II of Lindley; Grandchildren, Rain Bills, Mckenna Bills and Melody Sabatini; Siblings, Roxanne Greenfield of FL, Gardner Wayne Bills of Hornby, Frederick (Lena) Bills of Hornby, Randy Bills of Iowa and Norma Bills of Hornby; many Nieces and Nephews.

The family will receive friends at Acly-Stover Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 1-3 pm and 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Alex Ruffer Officiating. The Hornby Volunteer Fire Department will have a funeral procession to Goodsell Cemetery for fallen firefighter Ron following services.

Donations may be made to the Hornby Volunteer Fire Dept. or St. Judes.

As all are welcomed, we will be adhering to New York State regulations for social distancing and attendance regulations.
