Robert Downing

Robert Downing, 61, of Painted Post, NY, passed away on September 28, 2025, at Corning Hospital.

Born on July 1, 1964, Robert was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Frieda Downing. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Kate Downing (Ryan Pomeroy), and his sweet cat, Loki.

Robert had a deep love for video games, pro wrestling, and quiet evenings with his favorite feline companion. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and had a soft spot for things that brought a little joy and entertainment into the world.

No formal services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chemung County SPCA in Robert’s memory, where he adopted Loki, and in honor of his love for animals.
