Robert E. Buchanan Jr.

Robert E. "Taz" Buchanan Jr., age 53, son of Robert E. Buchanan Sr. and Thelma Wilson, born on October 13, 1969, in Corning, NY died on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at at his home with his family by his side. Beloved husband, father, and grandfather he was loved by his family.

Bob worked full time for the American Medical Response Service as an emergency medical technician.

Bob loved everything about the fire service and made the fire departments his life.  He was a past member and First Assistant Chief for the Painted Post Volunteer Fire Department, Third Assistant Chief for the Avoca Volunteer Fire Department and past member of the Big Flats Volunteer Fire Department, Bath Volunteer Fire Department, Gang Mills Volunteer Fire Department and North Corning Volunteer Fire Department.  He enjoyed camping, vacations in Arkansas and spending time riding the golf carts with his grandchildren.  

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 23 years Paula Buchanan; children, Samantha (Brian) Stanton, Robert Buchanan (Tammy Capron), Anthony Garcia, Shane Wood and Christopher Wood (Vickie Wray); brother Howard Buchanan; sister Barbara (Sean) Deats; grandchildren, Carlee, Elliott, Gio, Nevaeh, Lilly and Ayden, Robert Jr., Aubrey, Emily, Hunter, Mason, Chevy, Paxton, Payton, Hayley, Bailey and Izzy; special friends, Terry "Brother" Wheat and Jody "Sister" Wheat; several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents.  

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Acly-Stover Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m.  Burial and committal prayers will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Painted Post, NY.

Memorial donations in Bob's name made be made to: Avoca Volunteer Fire Department or Avoca Volunteer Ambulance.
