Rebecca Anne "Becky" Kluchonic, age 67, of Savona, New York passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday July 10, 2023.
Becky was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 21, 1956. She was the loving daughter of the late George and Anna Mae (Kotik) Kluchonic.
Becky was a graduate of Bradford Central School Class of 1974. On May 21, 1975, she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps honorably serving her Country until her discharge on May 16, 1979. After leaving the military she pursued her education graduating from Elmira Business Institute and Corning Community College.
Becky was retired from the New York State Police Horseheads Barracks where she was employed as a dispatcher. She gave 34 years of service before retiring in 2010.
After retiring Becky went on to write her first children's book, Sarah's Summer Vacation. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, whom she loved as if they were her own as well as knitting, crocheting, reading, and many other crafts. She will be greatly missed by many.
She is survived by her sisters and brothers Rosalie White of Bradford, NY, Roberta Glosser of Savona, NY, John Kluchonic of Norfolk, VA and George (Kim) Kluchonic of Caton, NY; nieces Samantha Thompson, Megan Glosser-Wright (Michael Strano); nephews Brandon Long and Jacob Glosser, along with great niece Kaydence Chappell and great nephew Chance Tackett. Rebecca was predeceased by her grandparents, her parents, her brother Charles J. Kluchonic and niece Karen M. Kluchonic.
The family would like to thank the Savona Volunteer Fire Department, especially Chris McCann, for their kindness, compassion, and respect. The family would also like to thank Angie Acly-Carr and Acly-Stover Funeral Home for their professionalism and kindness in a very difficult and emotional time.
Services will be held at a future date. Burial will be in the Bath National Cemetery with military honors.
