Phillip B. O'Brian, 81, of Corning, New York passed away peacefully at home, Friday, April 21, 2023, at his home, with his loving family at his side.
He was born in Corning, New York on July 30, 1941, the son of Clifford and Martha (Coleman) O'Brian.
Phillip married the love of his life, Jean M. Shove O'Brian, on September 21, 1962, in Reading Center, sharing 65 years of marriage together.
He was a retired Machinist Class A at Corning Incorporate.
Phillip loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle any chance he had. He also enjoyed boating and traveling. He was a caring and loving man who viewed his family as most important in his life. Phillips also loved his dogs, Prince Harley, Dolly Mae, Taylor and JJ.
He was a social member of the American Flint Glass Workers Union, Local 1000, Corning VFW Post 524, Corning American Legion, a life member of the Caton Volunteer Fire Department and he had managed the Marconi Lodge Post 47 for many years.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Jean M. O'Brian of Corning, NY; children, Debbie (Richard) Kephart of Corning, NY, Martha (Jeffrey) Pound of Corning, NY, Tracy (Gus) Wilson of Lindley, NY and Phillip (Deanna) O'Brian Jr. of Corning, NY; brother, Richard O'Brian of Corning, NY; grandchildren, Kimberly (Eric Stratton) Kephart, Brian (Chelsea) Kephart, Andrew (Keanna) Arnold, Tina (Michael) Stocum, Steven (Amanda) Arnold, Sam (Nicole) Wilson, Jesse Wilson (Brittany Hill), Sara (BJ) Crawford, Cheyenne (Cal) Lewis, Shannon (Anthony) Snider, Zoey O'Brian and Dakota, Ferry; several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, daughter, Christine O'Brian, brothers: Gale O'Brian, Lawrence O'Brian, Alton O'Brian Leo O'Brian and Maynard O'Brian, several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Acly-Stover Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at the USW Local 1000, 100 Civic Center Plaza, Corning, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
