Nora Jungquist Obituary

Nora M. Jungquist, age 100, of Painted Post, NY passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Absolut Care at Three Rivers.

Nora was born in Corning on April 20, 1921 to the late Daniel and Mazie Radney Ziegler. She and Malcolm Jungquist were married at Grace United Methodist Church in Corning on July 12, 1941 with Rev. Leo Engler officiating.

Nora was a member of the United Methodist Women.  She was also a member of the church choir for many years under the direction of Edith VanEtten.  She volunteered at Corning Hospital and Meals on Wheels.

She retired from the Corning-Painted Post School District with 27 years of service.

Nora was an avid reader and loved music, especially the Lawrence Welk Show.

She is survived by her Children, Carol (Robert) Menihan of Corning, NY,  Patricia (Mark) Cuda of Vestal, NY and Richard Jungquist of Wilmington, NC; 6 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her Husband in 1996 after 55 years of marriage and three brothers.

The family will receive friends at Acly-Stover Funeral Home on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m.  Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Corning, NY.

Memorial donations may be made to The Living Faith Endowment Fund at Grace United Methodist Church, 191 Bridge St., Corning, NY
