Nancy Ann Pierce King of Lindley, NY was gathered into her Heavenly Father's arms on Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
Nancy was born to Harold and Jean Knapp Pierce on May 10, 1934 in Corning, NY. She was a graduate of Northside High School (Class of 1951).
Nancy was a life member of Lindley Community Church. She was a vital part of the church playing the piano, a Sunday school teacher and VBS, she sang in the choir for many years. She was a Docent at Rockwell Museum for over 15 years, Girl Scout Leader and volunteered for Cooperative Extension. Although mainly a homemaker, Nancy taught cake decorating for adult evening classes and loved making wedding, birthday, shower and anniversary cakes. She was an accomplished seamstress and sewed her daughter's dresses as well as her own. She loved flower and vegetable gardening, canning vegetables, refinished furniture, enjoyed jig saw puzzles, counted cross stitching, painting and reading.
Nancy was a devoted wife for 59 years to Percy F. King who predeceased her on August 8, 2010. She was a mother to David King, Judith Tompkins, Michelle (David) Davis, James (Debi) King. She was predeceased by her son Darrin King on January 15, 2018. She was a loving grandmother to 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Her siblings include Betty Jean Walters, Richard (Kitty) Pierce, Steven (Gina) Pierce. She was predeceased by her brother Harry Pierce on September 13, 2020. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Ken (Eila) King, Canadian "Son's" Terry and Greg Bell and "Daughter's" Deb Rutledge and Ruth Bell.
Nancy was a talented woman who touched countless lives.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the Lindley Community Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Ron Head and Rev. Garrett Plitt presiding. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Caton, NY.
