Michelle A. Nichols

Michelle "Shelley" A. Nichols, age 57, of Newark, NY formerly of Corning, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, June 22, 2023. 

Shelley was born on December 1, 1965, in Corning, NY to Judy and Edward Faulkner. She was a graduate of Corning-Painted Post West High School (Class of 1984) and studied Early Childhood Education at Corning Community College.

Shelley had a love for sports. Anyone that knew her, knew her favorite football team was the Pittsburgh Steelers, her favorite baseball team was the NY Yankees and she enjoyed NASCAR races. She would dedicate her Sundays to watching sports on the TV. 

Shelley loved her family very much and treasured every moment she spent with them. She enjoyed spending an afternoon sitting next to a lake. You could sense her love for the water and nature, especially when she received an occasional visit from a hummingbird.   

Shelley worked many years at Walmart in Watkins Glen, NY.  She had a passion caring for children. She had her own daycare for many years while living in South Corning, and also did in home babysitting.  

Shelley is survived by her Fiancé (Brett Jones) of Newark NY; Daughter Amy Davis (Nate Davis) of New Mexico and Emily  Carson (Tyler Carson) of Woodhull NY; Son Lucas Nichols (Lexi griffin) of Horseheads NY; Loving Grandchildren Lincoln, Emma and Bentley; Sister Deb Dewert (Dale Dewert) of Campbell NY; several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Shelley is predeceased by her Mother Judy and Father Edward Faulkner.

A celebration of life will be held at Acly-Stover Funeral Home, 327 E. 2nd St, Corning, NY of Monday, July 10, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.  Shelley would encourage guests to wear their favorite sports shirts or casual attire.
