MattieLou Riley

MattieLou Riley, 61, passed away on June 17, 2025, in Corning, New York, the city where she was born and spent her life.

Born on September 26, 1963, in Corning, MattieLou- affectionately known as Matlou--was a lifelong member of the community. She dedicated several years of her life working for the Corning School District until her health began to decline. Her presence left a I lasting impression on those she worked with and served.

Matlou found peace and strength in attending church, a source of comfort that grounded her throughout her life. She will be remembered for her courageous smile and deep dimples-features that lit up every room she entered and brought warmth to those around her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her only child, Alvirn Riley; special grandchildren Tyrone Riley and Mataya Riley; several other grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Her legacy also lives on through her sisters: LaRaine Green, Kathleen Kitchings, Marysue Riley, Kellyann Riley, and Peggylynn Trantham; along with numerous nieces and nephews who will carry forward the love she shared so freely.

Matlou was predeceased by her parents, Leslie and Mary Riley; brothers Charles "Chuckie" Riley and Larry Riley; and sisters Leslie "Cleo" Givens and Marilyn "Marie" Riley.

Per the family's wishes, there will be no service.
