Mary Stampp Obituary

Mary L. Stampp, age 91, of Painted Post, New York left this earth on her heavenly journey to join loved ones on Sunday, August 21, 2022. 

She was born July 21, 1931, in Cortland, NY to Francis L. and Dorothy H. (Hood) Hobart.  Mary married her first husband, Elwood W. Eberlin Jr. and although the union was not permanent, they made a strong co-parenting team for their eight exceptional children. On February 25, 1984, she married her one true love, Earl C. Stampp in Woodhull, NY.  Until Earl's death on July 16, 2011, they shared 24 wonderful years together.

Mary retired from Corning Incorporate Steuben Plant as a fire polisher. 

She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepard in Savona, NY.  Mary cherished the times she spent socializing with her Red Hat Society friends and the ConCanOga Crimson Bonnets.  She was a member and Past President of the Campbell American Legion War Dads.

Mary enjoyed traveling and was a great cook. She loved animals especially her dog Sasha.

Left to cherish her memories are her Children, Jean (Gene) Galligan of Campbell, Mary Lynn (Michael) Pryslopski of Riverside, Robert (Aida) Bates of Lockport, Elwood “Pete” (Cathy) Eberlin of TN, Robert (Patricia) Eberlin of Riverside, Thomas (BJ) Eberlin of Addison and Paul (Isabella) Eberlin of Horseheads; Sister, Joyce Hobart; Brother's, Morris Hobart, Raymond Hobart, and Douglas Hobart; many Grandchildren, several Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews; good friend, Loretta Wiles. She was predeceased by her daughter Wendy Eberlin, siblings, Jean Hobart, Lucy Hobart, Bruce Hobart and Dwayne Hobart.

Committal services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Bath National Cemetery.
