Linda L. Casbeer Black, age 84, passed away on July 28, 2023. Linda was born March 16, 1939 to the late Ernest Emory and Hazel Luella (Dibble) Smith.
From a large and loving family, she married Max Conrad Black on June 1, 1956, together they had six children. Max and Sharon Black of Big Flats, Dawn and Steve Thomas of Corning, Linda and David Brown of Big Flats, Joan and Richard Teall of Addison, Elton and Laura Black of Corning, Jason and Jody Black of Addison. After the passing of Max, she met Lavern (Casey) Casbeer, three more children Mike, Debbie, and Dan Casbeer.
Linda retired from Corning Glass and was a very hardworking woman, she instilled in her children to work hard, have respect and to keep pushing on no matter how hard life gets. Mom loved and treated us all the same. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, doing laundry, spending time on her front porch with Casey and family. She loved listening to old school country music, the smell of Lilacs and spending time with all of her grandchildren.
Linda is survived by Mary Davis, her children, many grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brothers Emery and Cecil Smith. Sisters Marie Gleason, Lorna Thomas, Eloise Axtell, Ruby Lowery and Joyce Sullivan. Linda was very close to her sister Joyce.
Heaven received our angel Mother. She will live in our thoughts and hearts and will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
