Lewis James Taft II

Lewis James Taft II, age 55 of Corning, NY died unexpectedly Saturday, December 10, 2022, at home.

He was born to Lewis J. Taft and Bennie Jo Brockway Eberlin on January 4, 1967, in Corning, NY. 

Lewis had resided in Atlanta, Georgia and was employed as a Supervisor with FT Walls at that time. He worked hard running heavy equipment and enjoyed re-engineering. He returned to New York and began employment with the Carpenter’s union out of Syracuse as a Laborer. In his younger years he enjoyed helping his father and grandfather on the farm. He had a special place in his heart for the outdoors and loved to fish. He had a big heart and adored all walks of life but most of all, he loved his family.

Lewis is survived by his parents, Lewis (Charlene) Taft and Bennie Jo Brockway (Thomas) Eberlin; Sisters, Teresa (Joe) Herrick and their child, Josh; Yvonne (Bob) Shepard and their children, Matthew, Thomas, Garrett, and Kyle; Sarah VanSkiver and her children Morgan and Madison, Amanda Taft and her child Gunnar; Deanna (Manny) Ruiz and their children Arius, Brinn and Joseph; Danielle (Lyle) Cloos and their children Gavin and Jillian; Several Aunts, Uncles, great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by Grandparents George and Margaret Taft, Niece Nichole Herrick.

The family will receive friends from 10am to 1pm on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Acly-Stover Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 1pm.  Burial will be in Coopers Cemetery, Coopers Plains, NY.

Following the service and burial the family would like to invite all friends to join them in a celebration of life being held at the Marconi in Corning starting at 3:30pm.
