Lee E. Downing

Lee Ellen Downing, 73, of Corning, NY passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 at home. 

Lee was born August 20, 1947 in Corning, NY, the daughter of Lee Bardo and Minnie (Bardo) Holmes. 

Lee and Adrian C. Downing Jr. were married July 17, 1964 in Corning. 

She retired from the Corning Public Library where she worked as a Senior Library Clerk. She went on to be a school bus monitor for the Corning PP School District. She was past President of the Corning National Little League as well as served for 32 years as the Little League District 6 Treasurer. She loved sewing, cooking, crafts, flowers and gardening, but mostly loved her 4 grand/great grandchildren. 

Lee is survived by her Husband, Adrian C. Downing Jr, Son, Adrian C. Downing III; Daughter, Robin (Shawn) French; Granddaughters, Gabrielle Daggett, Julia (Khadir) Fadul; Great Grandchildren, Remembrance Morris and Theo Adorno; Brothers; John (Mary) Bardo, Michael (Barbara) Bardo, Patrick Bardo, Joseph (Tammy) Bardo, Mark Bardo, Ronald (Belinda) Holmes; Sister-in-law, Eleanor (Jack) Black; Brother-in-law, Gary Johnson. She was predeceased by her son Arthur Downing, Brother-in-law Robert Downing, Sisters-in-law Barbara Hilton and Kim Johnson. 

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Corning.
