Laura Mildred Burguess

Laura Mildred Burguess, age 93, died May 30, 2023 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina from a lingering illness.  Her son Chip was by her side.

Laura graduated from Northside Blodgett High School in Corning, New York in 1946. She then worked many years for the Corning Glass Works in their computer payroll department.  Laura was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints – Corning Branch.

Laura was predeceased by her parents Lawrence W. Phillips Sr. and Francis M. (Hayes) Phillips, step - mother Ruth M. (Hayes) Phillips, husband Robert W. Burguess, youngest son Ray E. Burguess and, brother Lawrence W. Phillips Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Gail Standish Koba (Harry), sons Lawrence (Chip) W. Burguess (Jay), Robert G. Burguess (Rita), Brother Richard L. Phillips (Sandy), and many Grand – Children. Great Grand – Children, nieces and, nephews. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 22nd, 2023 at the Acly-Stover Funeral Home, 327 East Second Street, Corning, New York.  Calling hours will be 1:00pm to 2:00pm with a service to follow.
