Joseph W. Nobriga Jr., age 58, of Lindley, New York passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born in Corning, New York on April 22, 1964, the son of Joseph W. and Joanne E. (Brown) Nobriga Sr. He married Darline (Peachie) K. Copp on April 22, 1986, and they recently celebrated 36 years together.
Joe served with the U.S. Army Reserves for 6 years. He spent his working years in the construction field doing anything from building houses to constructing bridges. He was known for being a Jack of all trades and was always there to help others when needed. Joe especially enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family. He was also very passionate about dirt track racing. He spent countless hours in the garage and on the high banks of Woodhull Raceway, passing the torch on to his son when he retired the ol' 72 Street Stock.
Surviving in addition to his wife Peachie are his children, Joshua Nobriga (Melissa) of Lindley, Danielle Nobriga (Joshua Kendrick) of Tioga, PA; seven grandchildren, Hailie Stuart, Joslyn Kendrick, Carter Bardo, Luke Nobriga, Raelynn Bardo, Chelsea Nobriga and Leo Kendrick; a brother Michael Nobriga (Sandy) of Lindley; Mother-in-law, Darlene Jones of Corning; Brother-in-law's, Rusty Copp of Corning, Orie (Tammy Copp) of Lindley and Charlie Copp of Lindley; Sister-in-law, Delinda Buchanan of Tyrone; several cousins, aunts, uncles and best friend, Roger White of Addison. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Bill Jones and sister-in-law Tracy Buchanan.
Joe will be greatly missed by many, especially his grandchildren who he adored.
