John E. Kachel

John E. Kachel, 70, of Bath, NY passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Steuben Center in Bath, NY.

He was born July 15, 1953, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the son of Paul F. Kachel and Dolores R. Anderlite.  

John was a graduate of Upper Moreland High School.  He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corp.

He had been a cook for Corning Hospital and Founders Pavilion. 

John was a gentle giant and a very caring person. He had a great sense of humor and always made people laugh.  Mostly, John enjoyed the time he spent with friends.

He is survived by his family, Holly Stickler, Crystal Turner and the many nurses at Steuben Center who cared for him, brother's David Dean and Glen Kachel, step-son, Frank Kurtz.  He was predeceased by his parents, sister Jane Kachel Collins and former wife, Lynne Kachel.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
