Joanne E. Rose, age 91 of Lindley, NY, passed away November 10, 2024.
A lifelong resident of Erwin and Lindley, NY, Joanne was born June 8, 1933, the daughter of Harry and Winola Pardee. She married LaVerne “Junie” D. Rose Jr., on December 4, 1954, at the First Methodist Church of Painted Post. LaVerne predeceased her on December 14, 2021. They would have celebrated 70 wonderful years of marriage this December.
Joanne was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always had her family in mind and was there for them no matter what. Joanne loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always at their school functions and sporting events. She loved working in her flower gardens, going every year to the Colonial Days Parade in Painted Post, listening to Country music, and bowled for many years. She was a very organized person. Everyone enjoyed listening to her special laugh. Many times, she would start laughing and could not stop. Sometimes when you gave her a picture in a frame, she would comment how nice the picture frame was and not the picture. Then her laughing would start and not stop. It became a family joke.
She worked for Corning Glass Works for 39 years, retiring in 1990. She was very proud of her years with CGW. She was a graduate of Northside High School.
Joanne and Junie loved hosting gatherings, parties and holiday events at their home in Lindley. In their earlier years they enjoyed spending time at their cottage on Lamoka Lake. They made some memorable trips traveling to England, Florida, South Carolina, and the Little League World Series games in Williamsport, PA.
Left to cherish her memories are sons Laverne (Deb) Rose III, Scott (Lisa) Rose, grandchildren Eric (Jessica) Rose, Casey Rose (Michael Mason), Cody Rose (Danielle Lazore and her daughter Nora), Chelsea Rose, Zackarie Rose, Tyler (Allison) Rose, great grandchildren Haddie, Taytum, and Porter Rose, Brinley Mason and Callum Rose, sister-in-law Linda Rose, Tina Meade, Partner to (Timothy Rose-deceased) and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
