Joan Eileen (Brennan) Reed passed away on April 20th, 2021. Her Grandchildren were the light of her world and she would spend as much time as possible with them. She was renowned for her baking, enjoyed cross stitch, hunting and target shooting.
She is survived by her Son, Tim Reed (Jiamin Qian) and grandson Declan Reed. Daughter, Erin Preczewski (Lou) and grandchildren Alex Willette, Zach Willette, and Julie Preczewski; siblings Rosemary Bloise, John (Theresa) Brennan, Tim Brennan, Kathy (Glenford) Rose, many nieces and nephews as well as her beloved pets Mandy and Cookie.
She was predeceased by her husband of ten years, Kenneth (Eddie) Reed as well as her parents John M. and Eileen (Goff) Brennan.
Joan attended elementary school at St. Patrick’s Parochial School in Corning. Graduated CPPS East High School. Graduated from Corning Community College with AAS in Nursing with honors. She was ACLS certified, and a BLS instructor. Later, she received state and local training as Corrections Officer and worked courtroom security and was a matron/transport officer with the Schuyler County Sheriff's Office.
She was a nurse of over thirty years, and worked in numerous positions and wards including the maternity, ICU/CCU, Emergency Room, Nursing Supervisor, and jail nurse at Tompkins County Jail.
A private remembrance will be held at the family’s convenience.
