Jerry Lee Barnard

Jerry Lee Barnard, 64, of Tyrone, NY passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Robert Packer Hospital.

Jerry was born October 31, 1958 in Penn Yan, NY the son of Morris Barnard and Leafy Stevenson.  

Jerry was a 1977 graduate of Bradford Central School.  He was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 8/23/1977 to 2/6/1983. 

Jerry worked for the Tyrone Highway Department for 36 years.  

On a warm sunny day in 2014, Jerry met the love of his life at the point on Lamoka Lake. They spent 10 wonderful years together.

Jerry especially loved spending time at his tiki hut at the point. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, riding four wheelers, and puttering around his property to always keep it just so. He was a private man who had amazing creativity and artistic talents that most people were unaware of, but those who were privileged enough to know were always impressed. Jerry always made time for family, and was a great role model for everyone around him.

Jerry is survived by his partner, Vicky Orr and her daughters Ariel Orr and Reagan Hoad and son Eric Orr ; children Jacobe Barnard, Jessica Barnard (Cecil) and Aaron Barnard (Latoya) ; siblings, John (Donna) Barnard  and Grace Barnard Matwiejow; grandchildren, Lydia, Seth, Hannah, Mary, Maylee, Everlee, Colton, Cason, Alexander, Nathaniel, Benjamin, Kaleb, Benjamin, Jackson and Melanie; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Acly-Stover Funeral Home on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 4-6 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023 at the funeral home.  Committal prayers and interment will follow in Barnard Cemetery, Corning, NY. 

Memorial donations in Jerry's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
