Jacob Edward VanPelt

Jacob E. VanPelt, age 78, of Corning, NY passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 28, 1943 in Long Eddy, NY to Raymond VanPelt and Sadie Ottenritter.

Jacob enjoyed Florida and was a long time resident. Over the years he had worked as a wrecker driver until his retirement.  After retirement he moved to Corning, NY where he worked as a bus driver, which he really enjoyed the kids he drove for. He loved his work, his boss and the people he worked alongside with.  Jacob enjoyed tinkering with lawnmowers and tractors, target shooting and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He especially loved his dogs Pappy, Tinker and Patches.

Jacob is survived by his his wife, Joanne M. VanPelt, daughters Terri (Frank) Potter, Tammy (Bill) Coletta, Nicole (Mike) Baker, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews. 

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
