Fredrick J. Button

Frederick J Button,88, of Corning, NY passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Corning hospital.

He was born June 5,1933 in Corning, NY, the son of John and Eva (Wilhelm) Button.

Fred was a veteran in the Army, serving in Korea. He worked as a meat cutter at Food Mart, Loblaws and Acme before opening his own meat market on Sunset Ave. in Corning. Fred later worked as a bus driver for the Corning-Painted Post School District until he retired.

He enjoyed going to the lake, spending time with family and gardening.

Fred was predeceased by his parents, his brother George and his sister Lenora.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Joanne Button of Painted Post, daughter Cathy (Mike) Rahr of Canisteo, son Jeff of New York City, four grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Per Fred's wishes there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be held at the family's convenience at St. Mary's Church in Corning with the funeral to follow. Burial will be in the West Hill Cemetery in Hornby, NY.
