Donna Marie (Congdon) McCarthy

Donna Marie McCarthy (Congdon) was called home to the Lord peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 15th, 2022. Born on February 4th, 1933, to the late Robert and Helen Congdon of Hornell, Donna married William J. McCarthy Sr in 1954.  They spent 39 years together before William’s passing.

Donna loved her large family fiercely and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grand and great grandchildren. Donna was known for her needlework and sewing capabilities and also enjoyed traveling, gardening and her beloved dog Peaches.

Donna is survived by her children: William (Christine) McCarthy Jr, John McCarthy, and Patricia (Kevin) Anglehart; Sisters: Patricia (Samuel) Gregory and Alice Woodworth and Sister-in-Law Margaret Congdon; 11 Grand Children and 13 Great Grandchildren along with many (grand) nieces and nephews.

Donna was predeceased in death by her husband William McCarthy Sr, Son: Robert McCarthy, Daughter: Kim McCarthy and Daughter In Law Anita Ferri, Brothers: Robert Congdon and Karl Congdon and Brother in Law Norman Woodworth Sr. And Sister In Law Edie Congdon.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the Campbell American Legion Post 1279, 8458 County Route 333, Campbell, NY 14821.  Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Campbell, NY.
