Corning, NY - Della M. Burger passed away Friday, June 15, 2018.
She was born February 5, 1930, in Waverly, NY to the late Henry and Helen Seidel.
She attended Waverly High School graduating in the Class of 1948, with a N.Y. State Regent degree in Business.
She was employed in at the Westinghouse Electronics Tube Division in the advertising department for 9 years. In 1957 she went to Denver, Colorado which was her life's dream to "go west". She was employed by Shwayder Bros. (Samsonite).
In 1961, she returned to Corning, NY due to her Mother's illness.
In 1963, she married Joseph T. Burger who predeceased her on February 28, 2012.
She retired in 1985, from Corning Glass Works at 55 years of age.
Della was a long time member of St. Mary's Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY and served as a Eucharist Minister.
She was a world traveler (twice to Israel) traveling all of the U.S. and Europe.
Snow skiing, water skiing, golfing, gardening were just a few things that interested her.
Her sister Mildred Malanoski of Waverly survives her, as well as, many nieces and nephews in particular Ben and Penny Burger who came to live with her on the River Road and kept her company.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at St. Mary's Our Mother Church, Horseheads, NY.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery along side her husband, Joseph.
