Connie passed on August 28th, 2018, at Corning Hospital. She was born on December 27th, 1946, in Elmira, New York to Ernest L. and Shirley (Nicholson) Mosher. She divided her first 11 years between her home on Rockwell Avenue in Elmira Heights and the home of her grandparents, James H. and Mabel (Smith/Mosher) Duff in Burdett, New York.
Connie met the love of her life, James M. Mattison, in 1985, and married him on March 18th, 1989. He survives her. She is also survived by 4 children; William Allen Torrence II, of Elmira, Christine Allwood, of Elmira, Diane Leonard, of Corning, and Edward Mattison, of Corning; Her baby sister, Beverly McCauley, of Elmira, 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 very special friends / caregivers, Beth and Kelsi Squire.
Connie spent most of her time just "hanging out" with her "Jimmy", gabbing with Bev, camping, gardening, sitting around the fire ring in the back yard, cooking wonderful meals, cleaning, and loving life. She loved her husband, sister, children, and God; Everyone cherished her.
Connie was tough, resilient, and physically strong. She fought and beat cancer, and a stroke. She finally succumbed to pneumonia and complications from the stroke. She will be missed!!!
