Clair D. Matteson Jr.

On Friday, October 27, 2023, Clair D. Matteson Jr., loving husband, cherished friend, and devoted father, passed away at the age of 89.

Clair was born January 27, 1934, in Troupsburg, NY to Clair D. Matteson Sr. and Flora D. Cleveland.  On January 1, 1955, he married the love of his life, Bettie A. Phillips. Together they raised raised two children, Davida and Robert.

Clair served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1962.  He dedicated himself to a career at Corning Glass Woks as a tradesman for over 40 years. 

Clair was a parishioner of All Saints Parish.  In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and spending time golfing.  You would often see him sitting on the back porch enjoying the fresh air.

He is survived by his wife, Bettie A. Matteson, his daughter, Davida A. Matteson Allen, his son, Robert J. Matteson, his 5 grandchildren, Krista Lee Allen, Christopher Allen, Jason Allen, Amanda Matteson, Brandon Matteson and his 6 great grandchildren. 

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.
