Chrystian Xyan Vanslyke, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 6, 2024, at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester, New York.
Born to Samantha Scharick Pickard on September 18, 2007, in Auburn, New York, Chrystian's life was a vibrant tapestry of passion, kindness, and youthful exuberance.
Chrystian attended Haverling High School where he was a junior, expected to graduate in 2025.
He had a passion for fishing, spending time on the water, and showing off his latest catch. He liked tinkering and working on cars and especially loved listening to music. He was extremely funny, had a great sense of humor and could make you laugh. Most importantly, Chrystian cherished the time he spent with his sister Braelynn who he thought of as his best friend.
Left to cherish his memories are his Mother Samantha Pickard and her partner Zach Davidson of Bath; Sisters Braelynn of Bath and Amelia Errico of Auburn; Grandma Donna Tuthill of Auburn and Nana Laura White of Corning; Uncle Joseph and his wife Stephanie Scharick Jr. of Auburn and their children, Richie, Colton and Tessa; his faithful and loving dog Turbo Winston.
A special thank you to the medical team on 7 North and 7 South and PICU of Rochester. Dr Arca, Dr Korones, Dr Diamond, and Nurses, Mackenzie and Victoria.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Hope Cemetery in Corning.
