Christopher John Reynolds of Corning, NY, passed away suddenly at the age of 59 on Monday, March 7th, 2022. He was born October 11th, 1962, in Corning, New York.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Irving and Betty (Mapes) Reynolds; sister and brothers, James C. Day, Beverly Reynolds, Sharon (Duke) Cole, Stephen Reynolds, and David (Jenny Sue) Reynolds; and son Johnathan Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife, Michele A. Reynolds (Carson); his daughter and son, Staci (Jason) Johnson and Eric Reynolds; his brothers and sisters, Butch Reynolds, Donna (Bob) Harding, Lorraine (KC) Harbusch, Kevin (Darla) Reynolds, Mickey (Susan) Reynolds, and many other friends and family members.
Chris will be remembered as someone who was always willing to lend a hand. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without thinking twice. You could also find him in the community chatting up numerous people, no matter who they were.
Chris was active in his school days. In middle school, he marched in the local drum and bugle corps, The Red Barons. Then in high school, he played football for East High. Chris picked up some part-time jobs over his school career to support his family.
In October of 1987, Chris and Michele were married as high school sweethearts. Into adulthood, Chris enjoyed some of the simpler things in life – you could find him hunting, fishing, or bluing guns any given day.
Some of you have reached out and asked how you can help us during this time. Know that your kindness is much appreciated as we navigate this heartbreaking moment.
A memorial service will be held the Corning Salvation Army, 32 Denison Parkway E., on Sunday, March 20th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow until 5:00 p.m.
