Carolyn Jean Nares

Carolyn Jean Nares, 95, formerly of Corning, NY, passed away Friday, March 18, 2022, at the M. M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua, NY.

She was born February 21, 1927, in Huntington, West Virginia the daughter of Axel J. and Daphne I. (Saunders) Brouneus.

Carolyn was a graduate from Corning Free Academy and Alfred University with a degree in nursing.  She was a Registered Nurse for many years in the office of Wayne C. Templer in Corning until her retirement.

Carolyn married Joseph F. Nares in 1960 and they were married for 56 years until the time of his death in 2016.

Carolyn was a member of All Saints Parish.

Carolyn is survived by her Children, Elizabeth Nares of Farmington, NY, Joseph (Susan) Nares of The Villages, FL, and Steven Nares of Corning; Grandchildren, Keelin Nares of New Orleans, LA,  Abigail (Jonathan) Nares-Yanez of St. Petersburg, FL, Alexandra Nares of The Villages, FL and Gabrielle Nares of Canandaigua, NY; Sister-In-Law, Beatrice Brouneus and  several Nieces and Nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and her son, Timothy Nares, and Brothers Harold and Karl Brouneus, and Sister-In-Law Vera Brouneus.

A Graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at St. Mary's Cemetery.  She was a wonderful mother with a very caring and loving heart and she will be missed very much.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Corning Food Pantry or M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, 350 Parrish Street, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
