Belvagean A. Aldrich, age 79, of Corning, New York left this earth on her heavenly journey to join loved ones on Monday, October 23, 2023.
She was born July 13, 1944, in Corning, New York to Freeman E. and Shirley E. (Buckley) Smith. She was a graduate of Northside High School. Belva married the love of her life, Loren C. Aldrich on September 9, 1961, at Calvary Baptist Church. The couple spent 62 loving years together.
Belva began her career working for the grocery store, Foodmart on Market Street and South Corning. She would often greet you with a smile and hello. She retired after 40 years of service.
Belva found joy in sewing and working in her yard, tending to her flower beds. Those who knew her, knew how much she loved and cared for her family and extended family. She was always so proud of them. She was the heart of her family.
Left to cherish her memories is her husband Loren Aldrich of Corning; son, Brian Aldrich of Corning; siblings, Freeman Smith of AZ, Matthew Smith of SC, April (Robert) Bower of Big Flats and Melody (Thomas) Frost of Elmira; numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by daughter-in-law Terry Aldrich.
The family will receive friends at Acly-Stover Funeral Home, 327 E. 2nd St., Corning on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from Noon to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Barner Officiating.
Belva will be buried at Barnard Cemetery, Corning, New York
