On Thursday May 8th, 2025; all human efforts proved meaningless, giving way to the will of the greatest physician, the God of life, who gave Ali Jon Adams Sr. birth into eternity.
Cherishing his memory are his children: Ali Adams II (Alesia), Antwon Adams, Marcella Adams (Albert), Darian Bryant (Loren), Marcel Adams, Darshina Adams, Breanna Adams, Keanna Adams, Ava Adams. Step Children: Latosha Hernandez-Ruffin, Elvis Hernandez-Ruffin Jr, DeaVoghn Hernandez-Ruffin, Deishawn Ruffin and 16 grandchildren.
Ali was born in Syracuse, NY on April 8th, 1969, to Gwen Adams. He graduated from Edison Tech (Rochester, NY) and went back to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Ali assisted at many medical facilities in the Greater Rochester area and was recently employed with Unity Hospital, formerly Parkridge Hospital (Greece, NY). Ali was an Army Veteran, a medical professional, a born-again believer, a blood donor, a participant of the Kidney Foundation, and a “grill master”. He was an avid New York sports fan (Knicks & Buffalo Bills), a hardcore New York Yankees fan, and loved attending sporting events. Ali could be spotted from anywhere wearing his favorite iconic New York Yankee’s logo baseball cap!
Ali is survived by his spouse Connie Ruffin of New York, his loving sons, daughters, and grandchildren of New York & North Carolina, his mother Gwen Brunskill & stepfather John Brunskill of Rhode Island, his brother Christopher Brunskill (Rebecca) of Massachusetts, his sister Cassandra Brunskill of Rhode Island, aunts: Barbara-Lynette Thrower of New York & Judy Brightwell (Michael) of Virginia, uncles: Johnny Adams of North Carolina & Walter Adams (Nancy) of Virginia, special cousins: Mwana-Hamisi Johnson (Reggie) & Ashley Collins of Alabama, Vanessa Brightwell & Imani Singleton of Virginia, a dear friend Jean Paul Thomas of Virginia, and several other cousins, nieces and nephews. He’s pre-deceased by his stepson DeaVoghn Hernandez-Ruffin (Rochester, NY), great-grandmother Willie B. Sweats, grandmother Mary Lou Sweats, grandfather James L. Hood, and aunt Lucretia Collins all of Corning, NY. Ali’s final resting place will be at Hope Cemetery in Corning, NY.
