Adrian C. Downing Jr.

Adrian "Bud" C.  Downing Jr., 81, of Corning, NY passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025, at his daughter's home in Branchport, NY. 

Bud was born May 14, 1944, in Corning, NY, the son of Adrian C. and Eleanor (Mullen) Downing Sr.

Bud married the love of his life Lee E. Bardo on July 17, 1964, in Corning, NY.  Lee predeceased him on February 12, 2021.

Bud retired from Corning Inc. where he was a supervisor for the fabrication plant.  After retirement he drove tour buses for Terps Garage where he loved his job touring all over taking trips to see places. He was a man who had a passion for baseball and cared deeply for the children. He spent a lifetime involved in little league baseball where he served as a district administrator for many years until his retirement. Bud, passionately known as "Poppy", loved his family and especially adored his grandchildren and being with them.

Bud is survived by his daughter, Robin (Shawn) French; granddaughters, Julia (Khadir) Fadul and Gabrielle Daggett, grandson Max Reeves; great grandchildren Remembrance Morris, Theo Adorno and Kalani Fadul; brother-in-law Gary Johnson and brother-in-law Joe (Tammy) Bardo; several dear nieces, nephews and cousins, special nieces and nephews Rebecca Hamilton, CJ and Breenna Hilton, Tammy and Shawn Black. God son Joseph (Debbie) Bardo Sr. as well as his neighbor and friends Jim Glosser and Jacob Glosser who provided Bud invaluable support; beloved pets Mason and Dusty. He was predeceased by his wife and sons Arthur Downing and Adrian C. Downing III,

The family will receive friends at Acly-Stover Funeral Home on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 4-7 p.m.  

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Hope Cemetery, Corning, NY.
